AFRICANA Zuerich YEAR. 1961 The very rich millionaire MR. SCHAEUBLE had the idea to run a jazzplace. The host Mr. HUGENTOBLER took care of this non-alcohol-serving tearoom.

YEAR. 1966 MUSIC PROGRAM AFRICANA The great thing about AFRICANA was; the club was open every bloody day. Two bands per day! So we could play sometimes once a week..

REMO RAU was surely the „Papa of Africana“. The most important jazz-mentor in those times. At the end of the 60s he started to organize jazz concerts at the „HINTERER STERNEN“ (with IRENE SCHWEIZER, a.o.).
